This listing includes Nine(9) items used to restore the condition of an original Game Boy – model DMG-001.

NONE OF THIS REQUIRES SOLDERING

All of these repairs can be done with a spudger, q-tips, isopropyl and tweezers.

Included:

Replacement screen lens

– These quickly get scratched, protecting the screen. It can be replaced easily with household tools and isopropyl.

Adhesive is included.

Replacement battery door

– I personally prefer this door to the original door. It clicks into place nicely and doesn’t shift around.

Replacement silicone conductive pads

– These go under the plastic buttons to press the actual buttons on the circuit board. They will slowly wear over time, making each press mushier, and the new ones will feel great.

Replacement battery terminals

– Easily the first replacement I want to make. These get dirty, and while the motherboard terminals also get dirty, I typically use vinegar to clean them and sand them a bit. Soldering can be more likely to cause an issue than sanding.

Replacement dust cover for link cable slot

– Rarely to I see a dmg where this hasn’t been lost, so I include it in my kit.

I suggest using alcohol wipes for the outer shell, I personally prefer to leave it a bit worn for authenticity as you can see from my project device in the images.
